 Hello ISGR Parents and Teachers,


It has been one year now that the pandemic has struck the world. Hopefully the vaccines will put us back to normal for the next school year. 

If you are new to school, our Facebook page is the best way to create links with our community. Ask to join (ISGR PTA) and introduce yourself. Contact welcoming persons and chat or set up a time for a fika. Support your kids to invite classmates so you get in closer contact with their parents.

Most our activities are cancelled. Still, small groups are meeting on a regular basis. Contact a few people and invite them for a walk or an outdoor fika. Do not stay home alone.

There are plenty of other communities in Gothenburg that you can also join. They have been our partners along the way by offering us free counseling or workshops. Here is how to find them:

💜 To help you settle smoothly and get to know your new environment better, Expateos invites newcomers to take part in activities or gives support for your relocation journey. They are a community so you will never feel alone. Expateos is also acting as a travel agency for activities and tours in Sweden.

💚 To support you in finding a job by integrating better the Swedish society, Perform on Top is the ideal community. They have themselves multiple partners and will help you with many advice.

ISGR PTA is supporting new after school activities program for students

It's often a challenge to register our children in activities after school, no? For years, the PTA has always tried to support parents and students by answering their questions about this, as there is no specific program offered by ISGR. Hopefully, the Sports Club was created by Peter a few years ago and is now running well. Still there was room for other type of activities. ISGR had already allowed private teachers to use school premises for music lessons for example but this would not fulfil all the needs of our community. Welcome to the ISGR PTA Blog!

With this new initiative, we now offer our members a more knowledgeable and accessible information about our missions and goals. It is also the place where you can find what the PTA has to offer during the school year and how you can contribute by being an active member and joining the PTA Team. Go through all the pages: maybe you did not know how fun  it is  to belong to our groups or how rewarding it is to  contribute to the well being of the ISGR community. Welcome to a new school year at ISGR!

We are ready! Yes 2020 is not like any other year but the PTA looks forward to continuing some of its missions this new school year. So what did we learn so far about the situation with Covid-19 and what to expect this year - unless it changes for better - regarding PTA activities? The rule is no gatherings of more than 50 people and school will continue to do as much online meetings as possible to reduce contact. It means that sadly we cannot hold any event like the Welcoming Breakfast, the Family Day or even the Winter  Bazaar.   We still want to do as much as we can to welcome new parents. There are 143 new students, meaning a lot of new families joined ISGR. There will be an orientation tour on August 21st and if more people are interested on Tuesday 25 August. Information will be advertised during the online welcoming session held by school no Monday 20 and also on Managebac.
